Round 2 of the Putoline 4 Hour Series heads for Ellington Banks in Ripon North Yorkshire on May 20th.

Hard Standing concrete paddock area, great facilities, and a superb all weather track will be laid on for all competitors.
The MOD tank training area has all the challenges required for a great days Enduro XC racing.

Youth Event for solo Ironkids or 2 man teams will run for a full 2 hours.
Adult event for solo Ironman or 2 man teams will run for 4 hours.

THIS WILL BE THE FIRST OF TWO DOUBLE HEADER CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKENDS IN 2012 – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY – SEPARATE ENTRIES – BOTH DAYS COUNT TOWARDS CHAMPIONSHIP.

Riders can compete in both days, or just one day.

Putoline 4 Hour Enduro Series

April 15th New 4 Hour Enduro Series.

This is a 3 round series supported by Putoline Lubricants who are commercial partner of rideoffroaduk.
The rideoffroadUK enduro race team are supported with Putoline lubricants, their UK Operations manager Dylan Brown is also an avid Enduro fan.
The aim of this series is to provide a friendly atmosphere where riders can team up and ride in a 2 man team, or the brave and supremely fit competitors the 4 hour solo iron man class may be the option.
Exciting team change overs, and friendly banter in the waiting zone always provides a great relaxed riding environment.

Round 4 heads to Carlton Grange, Helmsley this weekend 25th March…

A fully reworked Helmsley track will greet riders for this the first visit of 2012. Its out with the old and in with the new at this stunning woodland complex. If the weather turns we have the all weather hard standing parking, all tree roots removed by our groundworks team leading up to the event, to accomodate a wider more race-able course. We will be using the old forest fire tracks in this event to gives riders some fast open going to add to the established enduro loops. A limestone gravel base means this track stays firm whatever the weather throws at us.

NEW PADDOCK AND CAMPING AREA ON WOODLAND SIDE OF THE ROAD – FOLLOW FARM TRACK INTO PADDOCK. PADDOCK IS STRICTLY A SILENT ZONE. PLEASE CLOSE ALL GATES BEHIND YOU!!!!! We are in the middle of lambing season and would like you to adhere to the farmer’s wishes.

DON’T FORGET CLOCKS GO FORWARD SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!!!! The race schedule does not change due to this but please do remember to put your clocks/alarms/watches forward 1 HOUR before you go to bed!!!!

RideoffroadUK are set for Round 3 this weekend, 4th March!

The Norwood Teversal venue is truly iconic and is genuinely steeped with off road history. During the 60s and 70s this woodland scrambles track hosted some of the finest TV televised scramble races on record, top names like Terry Silvester, Malcolm Rathmell, Aurthur Lampkin, Andy Roberton, John Banks and Norman Crooks all took part in the epic bar banging clashes which used to be screened when the football was cancelled!

Saturday 3rd March sees the ever popular 3 hour training session start up again after the winter break. This is a structured school with Wayne Braybrook, in a group of up to no more than 10 riders, so don’t miss out, for more info call Sonya on 07576 095137.

Sunday 4th March sees the Youth classes first on track early doors for an hour and a half. This will be followed by the usual Sportsman, Sportsman Beginner, Ladies and Over50 classes, in their own race for a full two hours. After a short break for lunch the Experts, Over40 and Clubman class riders will do battle for two and a half hours.

The lap will be made up of good open woodland with plenty of room to pass, add in parts of the old MX track and a couple of technical sections, and this will be a true Hare & Hounds event.

The venue will be used twice this year which will be a treat (NG17 3JR) – the next visit is in June.

Parking is limited at Norwood so riders please team up in vehicles to simplify marshal’s parking duties on the day. Sat Nav Postcode NG17 3JR.

Round 2 Heads to Sunny Scunthorpe 19th February

RideoffroadUK face a back to back weekend of IOPD Doodson UK National Championship action, with a re scheduled round one taking place one week later than expected, we now have two weekends on the trot for the winter based championship rounds to take place.
The venue for round two is a quarry based all weather track, used for a winter warmer event in January the site was a huge hit with riders offering some superb hills, descents, rock gardens, and all laced together with some open flowing tracks and trails. Great news is that we will be using pretty much the whole site to ensure a big long lap is the order for Round 2. We also have use of the perimeter woodlands which will add to the terrain already on offer for the weekend, in all making the lap at least twice the length as the winter warmer. Any of you that rode there in January will know that there is superb parking, also a new start and pits area in the quarry base, and located less than 3 miles from the M180 motorway. Spectator viewing will now be available from the track safe area, located on the fringes of the paddock high up well away from the on track action. Spectators are not permitted to walk around the quarry, they must stay in the paddock spectator area.
Sunday morning at 8.30am will see the Youth classes first on track, they will be followed at 10am by the popular Sportsman, Beginner, Over50 and Ladies event. After a short break for lunch it will be the turn of the Expert, Over40 and Clubman riders to do battle around the Scunny course at 1pm.

This event was scheduled to be at Ellington Banks, Ripon, however due to extra Military exercises on the site the MOD can’t accomodate us this weekend, so we will run round two at our awesome new quarry based venue near Kirton In Lindsey.

Round 1 2012 Championship

****Saturday 11th February – Another track inspection has been done this morning, and with the coldest night now behind us we have brought in machines to make some parts of the track clearer and wider, also we are clearing 2 track crossings and clearing more of the car parking area (even more than what has already been done!) All systems are still go for the 1st Round tomorrow, PLEASE NOTE BELOW THE SLIGHT CHANGE OF RUNNING TIMES FOR ALL 3 RACES! Entries are still open. The Lee Dell complex is always a favourite with Northern riders, its hidden valley offers all kinds of options for the course building team, old mill riuns, ash tracks and good enduro XC trails will all be brought into play. This event features lots of open going.

NEW VENUE – Scunthorpe – This venue has been a work in progress for over 3 years now, finally we are able to offer this superb venue to our members, old and new.
This site’s all weather capabilities means it the ideal choice for a pre Championship Winter Warm Up event.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST SHOW A 2012 COMPETITION LICENCE AT SIGNING ON – NO EXCEPTIONS.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE A CURRENT 2012 LICENCE YOU MUST PURCHASE A DAY LICENCE – NO EXCEPTIONS!
We Accept 2012 ACU Enduro, 2012 AMCA Enduro and 2012 IOPD Enduro Licences.

The venue is a working quarry which closes at lunch time Saturday, access STRICTLY from Saturday 1pm ONLY.
Please do not enter the site before that time, this is a Health and Safety Rule.

2012 Memberships….Numbers going fast!

RideoffroadUK 2012 Club Memberships are in full swing, it seems competitors old and new are taking advantage of the 2011 membership price freeze which runs out on December 31st 2011.

As of the 1st January 2012 Club Memberships will increase by £5 in line with all other increasing costs to the club (£30).
With 12 venues now confirmed for the 2012 season, including two more brand new Hare & Hound virgin sites, we just can’t wait to get the Championship back on track in early February 2012.

For £25 riders will get their own personal race number for the year (be early to avoid disappointment as the popular numbers are now going fast!), a rideoffroadUK gift pack (with NEW gift’s in it this year), 10% discount off all our products on our ride shop page on the website (www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk/shop), and the chance to save £5 on every race entry during the year providing it is pre paid up to 7 days before the event. More and more riders are now opting to pay up front and save money. You can ONLY score Championship Points if you have done your yearly membership.

The yearly IOPD Licence is £15 for 2012, which can be bought before the end of the year along with your membership, though we do also accept the ACU Licence and the AMCA Licence – as these are the other two official governing bodies in the country that issue permits and licences which make events legal and remove you (the rider) from the Road Traffic Act.

Walker Wins the first Edition Iron Man Xtreme

Jonny Walker added another high profile event win to his portfolio by taking a resounding win at the Iron man Xtreme event.
Walker who was on the deck in turn one after a navigational blunder by holeshot king Scott Austin caused a crash for both riders, soon got into his stride and reeled off a superb 11 lap tally in the two hour epic event.
Old Xtreme specialist Wayne Braybrook enjoyed his days work keeping Walker on his toes, Wayne said after the event “the foundations are now firmly in place for the Iron Man Xtreme to become one of Europe’s premier Xtreme races in 2012, look out for an even bigger more Xtreme Iron Man in 2012″
Jason Crossland took Over40 honors, Jane Daniels grabbed the Ladies class win proving she is the fastest and most Xtreme lady rider the UK currently has to offer.
MXGP Jacky Martins KTM Rider Jake Nicholls proved he can hack it in other disaplines, by finishing a very credable 10th place in his first ever Xtreme Enduro Race. Jake admitted at the presentation that he must brush up on his trials skills before the 2012 Iron Man Xtreme. Well Done Jake you are a credit to MX.

Super Fit Neil Flockhart rounded out the Pro Expert podium, Neil who has attempted Erzberg a few times used his size and strenghth to secure a fine 3rd spot.

With the first running now concluded, the rideoffroaduk team have already started planning the second edition Iron Man Xtreme for 2012, already two top World Enduro Xtreme riders have expressed an interest in competing, so watch this event grow as high profile names sign up and become a part of the Xtreme Enduro showcase that the ride team serve up in the coming months.

IRON MAN XTREME UPDATE!

Jake Nicholls, Jamie Law and Jon Kirkham Sign up for Iron Man Xtreme

The latest big name to agree terms with rideoffroadUK for the Iron Man Xtreme Enduro is HM Plant Red Bull KTM’s MX2 GP star Jake Nicholls. Jake is a self confessed enduro fan, will be competing in the worlds first Iron Man Xtreme Enduro on Saturday October 29th at Low North Park near Scarborough. Nicholls has already been training on the technical aspects of Xtreme enduro riding. He has done his homework and is up for the challenge ahead. He will be joined by another newcomer to this event, Jamie Law. Jamie who trains with Jonny Walker knows exactly what to expect from this cross over event and is extremely looking forward to getting stuck in.

Jake Nicholls commented “I am excited about doing the enduro, I always ride a little bit of enduro in the winter for fun but this will be my first extreme enduro. I am nervous but excited at the same time about it as I know how tough it will be especially against the competitive field of trial and enduro riders. I will be practicing the next couple of weeks on as many man made and natural obstacles as I can to try and be more prepared for the race. I hope there will be some motocross fans there to support me on the day!”

Catching up with MX star Jamie Law he said “I had my arm twisted by Jonny Walker to do this he’s been on at me for ages to get an Enduro done. I’m sorting a bike with Neil from Triple D and looking forward to doing a bit of hard training after the Supercross with JW. I hope everyone will cheer me on when I’m going down the ‘chicken’ route!!”

Another top name dipping his toe in the Xtreme water is British Superbike rider – Samsung Crescent Suzuki’s Jon Kirkham. Jon loves his off road riding which keeps him super fit during the tarmac off season. Kirkham will bring an army of tarmac supporters to cheer him on in this end of season off road classic. JK as he is better known has been a popular face on the BSB podium this year, always a smile on his face and always game for fun, he is very excited about attempting the Xtreme Enduro on the 29th October. JK said “AAfter finishing my BSB season this year the first thing I wanna do is get my enduro bike out and do something knarly! What better way than the rideoffroaduk’s Iron Man Xtreme!”

These new signings will be joining the stars that have already signed…Brad Anderson, Jonny Walker, Wayne Braybrook, Jack Challoner, Neil Flockhart, Jason Crossland, Gary Jenkins, Harry Hillas, Scott Austin, Jane Daniels…plus many more!

Hillas & Dawson Dominate Round 6 at Hatcliffe

Harry Hillas dominated Round 6 of the Doodson Motorsport Championship in scorching hot conditions.
Hillas’ job was made slightly easier when rideoffroadUK team rider Scott Austin’s 300 KTM XC again had a mechanical failure in the engine department while the pair were battling in the early stages. John Steeples took a convincing 1 lap advantage to the finish flag in the Sportsman class, Howard Blundell netted the Over 40 win, and Rob Dawson kept his 100% winning record on track taking Clubman honours on his rideoffroadUK supported Gas Gas 250, despite having flattened his left side radiator !

Brand New Website!

As we reach the half way stage in the year, July sees the launch of this new website aimed at providing our loyal followers with an updated easy to ride site!
Riders can now enter events on line to save time, although we still prefer to use the tried and tested way of calling the office with payment card details, this means in a world of security breaches, we are doing our up most to secure the risks of on line fraud to our members.

The Doodson Motorsport Championship is getting more interesting by each race that passes. The thick end of each class is as tight as ever as competitors strive to achieve more points from each race. In the Sportsman and Beginners classes we are seeing more riders attending week in week out, which is great for general off road Sport and competition.
